About the Role

We are looking for a Site Engineer to join a major offshore AC substation construction project. You will be part of a small, highly skilled team working on high-voltage substations (66kV & 220kV) and associated infrastructure. This role is ideal for engineers with a strong background in electrical, mechanical, or combined electro-mechanical engineering who are eager to take responsibility on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical link between on-site inspections and the design team located off-site.
  • Prepare and review documentation prior to inspections to ensure all conditions and procedures are met.
  • Review inspection reports, identify issues, and propose corrective actions.
  • Participate in on-site inspections as needed, collaborating with QA/QC engineers and safety officers.
  • Monitor and maintain safety and quality standards on site (PPE, certified equipment, operational procedures).
  • Support the Construction Manager in coordinating technical issues and multi-disciplinary tasks.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant experience, preferably 5 years. Offshore or industrial construction experience (oil & gas, offshore substations, or energy infrastructure) is highly valued.
  • Skills:
  • Ability to work with multiple disciplines on-site (electrical & mechanical)
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes in construction environments
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Certifications: VCA VOL / SCC or willingness to complete the training (1-2 days course with exam).
  • Technical tools: Good knowledge of MS Office; experience with Aconex or similar platforms is a plus.

Work Environment & Conditions

  • On-site presence: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (Choose between typically 7:00 – 16:00).
  • Small, collaborative team (~5-6 people per site).
  • Work involves high-voltage substation components, heavy equipment, and strict safety protocols.
  • The role requires candidates based nearby or willing to relocate.
