Your Role:
The Lead Offshore Structural Specialist will oversee the structural design of Offshore structures for both oil & gas and offshore wind projects. The successful candidate will lead design strategy, provide technical guidance across all project phases, critically review designs for constructability, and ensure high-quality, integrated structural solutions from concept through detailed design and fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the conceptual and detailed design of offshore structures and foundations, defining efficient framing arrangements, connection types, and load paths;
- Establish structural design strategies, material selections, and section sizes before extensive calculation work;
- Oversee structural analysis, calculations, and 3D modelling for validation, fabrication detailing, and integration with topsides or turbines;
- Ensure structural integrity, constructability, and feasibility of offshore installations;
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, fostering best practices and innovation in structural design.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Offshore Engineering (Chartered/PE preferred);
- Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in offshore structural engineering with extensive jacket and foundation experience;
- Demonstrated seniority with the ability to define optimal jacket framing and connections at the concept stage;
- Proven track record as a lead engineer on offshore oil & gas or offshore wind projects;
- Strong knowledge of offshore codes and standards (API, ISO, DNV, AISC, Eurocodes);
- Familiar with SACS, SESAM, AutoCAD, Microstation, TEKLA, ANSYS, MATLAB, Primavera P6, MS Project;
- Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder coordination skills;
- Experience conducting peer reviews to challenge designs and ensure constructability.
