Responsibilities

  • Analyze and assess technical specifications and requirements for integrating marine piping products, systems, and processes (including materials, quality, environment, health & safety, and design optimization).
  • Set up and model basic engineering packages in a 3D environment in compliance with maritime standards and regulations.
  • Develop detailed engineering packages and production information based on basic engineering.
  • Coordinate outsourced engineering activities and verify the technical performance of subcontractors.
  • Implement improvements and updates to engineering packages and advise internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal project solutions.
  • Independently execute complex project elements and perform design reviews.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced engineers, contributing to team knowledge development.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and regulations.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of departmental processes.
  • Support knowledge transfer and knowledge retention within the department.
  • Apply and comply with all HSSEQ / IMED policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (EQF6) with at least 5‑7 years relevant experience, or Master’s degree (EQF7) with at least 3‑5 years relevant experience in a technical field.
  • Thorough knowledge of marine piping engineering, preferably within ships or offshore installations.
  • Extensive experience with 2D and 3D CAD systems and working on high-end (naval) vessels.
  • Experience with complex projects and interaction with statutory bodies.
  • Excellent command of English (written & verbal). Dutch is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, sometimes frequently and for extended periods.
