Overview
As a Data Engineer at Damen Naval, you will design and maintain the data infrastructure that connects and unlocks data across the organization, directly supporting vessel production and engineering processes. You will enable informed decision-making across departments, work with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure data reliability and integration into business workflows. You’ll contribute to Damen Naval’s transformation into a fully data driven organization and help scale data solutions in a complex technical environment.

Verantwoordelijkheden
- Integrate, analyze, and prepare data sources for the data warehouse
- Develop and deploy ETL processes (e.g., SQL Server)
- Build and optimize data models, queries, and pipelines
- Troubleshoot issues and provide internal technical support
- Document ETL processes, data models, and configurations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed data solutions into business processes
- Improve report performance and develop automated data processing solutions
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to knowledge sharing
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Bachelor’s degree (5-7 years) or Master’s degree (3-5 years) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
- Strong understanding of data engineering principles, data modeling, and database design
- Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes and optimization techniques
- Experience with SSIS, SSAS and Power BI Report Server stack on-prem
- Experience in dynamic and evolving technical environments
- Preferably experience in maritime, defense, or engineering sector
- Excellent command of English; Dutch advantageous
