The role
As a Medior Engineer Configuration Management , you ensure the consistency, traceability, and integrity of product configuration throughout the entire vessel lifecycle — from proposal to delivery and beyond. Your position is central to the engineering organisation, guiding configuration processes, ensuring compliance, and enabling technical excellence across projects.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Define and implement configuration management plans for complex naval or maritime projects.
Set up and maintain product structures, master document lists, and digital data environments.
Validate incoming and outgoing technical data from customers and suppliers.
Ensure strong change‐control processes and monitor correct implementation across departments.
Work within PDM/PLM environments (preferably 3DX) to organise and manage complex datasets.
Provide guidance and training to project teams on configuration management practices.
Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to future‐proof configuration strategies.
Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, production, quality, and project management.
Skills & experience
We are looking for candidates with:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably with experience in shipbuilding or maritime industries.
Proven experience in configuration management and familiarity with PDM/PLM systems (ideally 3DX).
A solid understanding of Systems Engineering principles.
Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset, especially when managing complex data.
A proactive, structured way of working with a focus on continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret and present technical data clearly.
Good command of English; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport (required for defence‐related projects).
Candidates with an EU work visa or dual EU/non‐EU nationality are not eligible due to project requirements.
