Job Title: Senior Compliance Manager
Location: Sydney
Hours: 37 to 40 hours per week
Type: Intern
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce/ Economics/ Business/ Laws or relevant industry qualification (minimum)
Experience:
- 10+ years’ compliance experience gained within Financial Services Industry, large corporations or regulators
- A solid understanding of Australian & New Zealand regulatory environment & requirements, with ability to conceptualise, interpret & communicate clearly on its impact on the business & financial products
- Demonstrated experience in managing key stakeholder relationships at a senior level
- Experience in writing & delivering technical training to non-technical audiences
- Be comfortable in working with complexity & ambiguity
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Top Role Accountabilities:
- Be the first point of contact for the business & responsible for the management of the Compliance functional mailbox, ensuring responses are addressed within agreed timelines
- Acting as the Compliance SME on Compliance related matters, providing technical advisory support on general enquiries, escalated matters & incident investigations
- Ensuring the various compliance registers are up to date
- Facilitating & assisting the business with policy implementation ensuring risks are managed through appropriate controls
- Delivering technical training to business & assist with regulatory engagement with regulators if required
- Designing & documentation of controls that are efficient, effective & support compliance with obligations
- Planning & facilitating policy implementation in a timely manner with the business units including with Head office & local policies
- Leading/supporting the risk assessment process for all compliance risks, including ongoing support on the identification & management of risks
- Identifying & actioning incidents & breaches, analysing results, reporting & follow up on remedial action. Escalate as required.
- Contributing & providing compliance related information to support quarterly reporting to committees, Board, Regulatory, any other reporting
- Other duties as directed
