We specialize in the production of large and complex steel constructions for the offshore industry, such as jackets and templates primarily for major offshore wind farms. For our Yard in Nieuwdorp, Vlissingen, we are looking for an experienced, proactive and motivated Lead Accountant who will guide and manage our Accounting and Accounts Payable teams. As the Lead Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by:
- Manage and lead the Accounting and Accounts Payable team, ensuring smooth daily operations;
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to enhance their professional development;
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Financial Operations:
- Oversee all accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance;
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports;
- Monitor and improve the accounts payable processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards;
- Prepare and review accurate financial statements, reports, and reconciliations for internal and external stakeholders;
- Prepare audit schedules and liaise with auditors during external audits;
- Work closely with the Lead Controller and other departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analyses;
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and cost control.
Qualification and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field;
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role;
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g. GAAP, IFRS);
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
